How do I uninstall the Zip Tools Software?
This document applies to the following:
Operating System: Windows 95, NT, 3.1x,
MS-DOS Device Type: Zip 100 Parallel, SCSI, ATAPI,
IDE Software Version: Iomega Tools 5.x
To remove the Iomega Tools software, use the following
steps:
If you are using Windows 95 or NT...
- Click on Start then point to Settings,
and click on
Control Panel.
- From within the Control Panel, open Add Remove
Programs.
- Highlight Iomega Tools for Windows 95/NT and
click on
Add/Remove.
- Restart your computer.
If you are using Windows 3.1x...
If you used install.exe to install the Iomega Tools
software, use the DOS section. If you used setup.exe to install the
Iomega Tools software, use the Windows section.
- Open the startup group and highlight the Tools Startup
and
Eject icons. Next, press the <Delete> key to remove the
icons form the Startup group.
- Delete the Zip Tools group by highlighting it, and then
press the <Delete> key.
- Exit completely out of Windows and at the C:\ prompt and
type Deltree ziptools_31 followed by the <Enter> key.
- From the C:\ prompt type Edit autoexec.bat
followed by the <Enter> key.
- Remove the line C:\Ziptools_31\Guest.exe.
- Select File then Exit and
save the changes when prompted.
- Restart your computer.
Note: If you used the DOS install instead of the Windows
setup to install Iomega Tools, you will need to remove the Iomega directory
instead of the Ziptools_31 directory.
If you are using DOS...
- From the C:\ prompt, type Edit autoexec.bat
followed by the <Enter> key.
- Remove the lines @SET SCSI_DRIVER=C:\IOMEGA and
@SET SCSI_UTILITY=C:\IOMEGA.
- From the File menu select Exit
and save the changes when prompted.
- From the C:\ prompt type Edit config.sys
followed by the <Enter> key.
- Remove the lines DEVICE=C:\IOMEGA\SCSICFG.EXE and
DEVICE=C:\IOMEGA\SCSIDRVR.SYS.
- From the File menu select Exit
and save the changes when prompted.
- From the C:\ prompt type Deltree Iomega followed
by the <Enter> key.
- Reboot the computer.
