NOTE: TINI O.S. and slush versions have the following format
      M.mq where
      M is the major version (1,2,3,...),
      m is the minor version (0,01,02,...,1,11,...) and
      q is an *optional* qualifier of the form
        pn (p represents "preview release" and n is a number (p1,p2,p3,...) or
        a (a is an alphabetical character indicating a "maintenance release" 
          (b,c,d,...).

      Examples:
        1.02p3 - version 1.02, preview release 3.
        1.02   - version 1.02, release.
        1.02b  - version 1.02, maintenance release b.

      The relative order of releases from newest is 
      (Newest > Newer > ... > Older > Oldest):

      ... > 1.02c > 1.02b > 1.02 > 1.02p3 > ...
